Wirewrapped Seashell Necklace With Flowers and Gemstones
This Pendant combines Land and Sea by incorporating elements of both. The main structure is a shell, with flowers and gemstones preserved and held in place by waterproof glue. It was then sealed with varnish for extra durability and shine.
Shells have varied symbolic meanings across different cultures. They are symbols of Beauty, Fertility, Protection, Prosperity, and to some they represent a Pilgrimage or a Spiritual Journey. They are believed to bring Good Luck or Good Fortune.
Spring Flowers are symbolic for New Beginnings, Renewal, Hope, and Optimism. These Flowers are from New York, picked from my backyard. To some they may be considered weeds. I'm not 100% sure, but after some online web searching I believe the little blue flowers are Veronica, and the purple flower in the center that lost it's color is 'henbit'.
Veronica, also known as Speedwells, or bird's eye, is Symbolic of Loyalty, Healing, and Protection. They are named after St. Veronica, which in the Christian Tradition stands for Support and Comfort.
Henbit on the other hand, has more Panganistic roots. (Haha roots) It was used in Spells and Rituals to Strengthen Relationships, provide Strength and Determination in difficult times, and to promote Security, Stability, Abundance and Prosperity. Butterflies and Hummingbirds are attracted to Henbit. It is a member of the mint family.
The Gemstones I chose for the pendant are Quartz, Green Aventurine, and Lapis Lazuli. Together these are said to enhance Clarity and Intuition, promote Emotional Balance, and Amplify Healing.
