Fingerprints

I truly believe that Normal doesn't exist. To say that everyone should be Normal seems silly to me. Conforming. Average. To expect everyone to be the same just doesn't make sense.

For example, consider a Butterfly's wings. They may look the same and appear to have the same pattern, but no two Butterflies are alike. A Butterfly's wings have microscopic differences and variations, much like a person's fingerprint.

Another example is Snowflakes. No two Snowflakes share the same shapes and patterns. Humidity determines the intricacies of the pattern. More complicated, branched structures are created in higher humidity. Lower humidity produces Snowflakes with simpler shapes. The shape changes and forms as a Snowflake falls. They twist and tumble, exposing different parts to varying conditions, which creates the unique, complex paths that make each flake it's own shape.

Even Identical Twins aren't completely similar. As the cells split and change, it creates genetic mutations and variations. One twin might have a mole, different skin tone, or hair color. Size and Health can also differ in Identical Twins. Between the genetic mutations and the Environment, it shapes who they are and who they become.

There is a true story of one twin who went to Space while the other remained on Earth. NASA's Twin Study was conducted with Identical Twins, Mark and Scott Kelly. Scott went to Space for one year, while his brother remained on Earth.

Scott underwent many changes in Space. Hundreds of mutations appeared in his genome, and thousand of RNA molecules expressed differently. His chromosome caps lengthened, but returned to its original state upon return to Earth. Changes were also seen in Scott's bone/muscle mass, immune function, and gut microbiome, though most returned to normal after coming home. What I find most fascinating is that, due to Einstein's Theory of Relativity, high speed slows time in Space compared to Earth, which made Scott return a few microseconds younger than his brother Mark.

Their different Environments affected the twins respectively. By the end of the study both twins were more different than when they started. This demonstrates how we Humans are changed by both our Environment and our Experiences.

No two of anything in our World is ever the same. The only exception I found was on a subatomic level. Particles like electrons are fundamentally indistinguishable. Identical quantum particles, especially those that have become entangled, are so deeply linked in their properties that they act as one system. This connection cannot be explained by Classical Physics. Outside of the Quantum Realm we are, all of us, constantly changing. Our environments shape us, both in physical appearance and personality.

So really how can Normal exist in our World? I believe it is really just a concept. When asking Google, 'How can Normal exist in our world?' the answer I received was quite long so I will narrow it down to a couple of segments:

" "Normal" exists as a conceptual framework rather than a description of a perfectly uniform reality. It operates as a statistical average and a cultural construct that helps humans navigate and categorize a complex, diverse world."

At the conclusion:

"In essence, "normal" is a useful cognitive tool that allows us to find patterns and make predictions in a world of infinite variation."

For Years, particularly as a teenager, I struggled with wanting to be Normal, to feel Normal. When thinking of Normal my mind labeled it as being "like everyone else". The opposite of "Weird", and the epitomy of "Cool". It was a state that I never reached in Highschool, and continued to feel a yearning for, for some time after.

I think it was when I was at my lowest point when I realized that for Years I was chasing something that didn't truly exist. One day it just seemed to click. Perfect and Normal are only thoughts and concepts, based around societal ideals and expectations. They don't exist. They never did. Something can seem close to perfect, but to achieve true perfection is impossible.

It's ok to be as you are. Does something maybe need improving? Ok, but everyone has something that they feel they need to improve or work on. The world gave us an array of wondrous variety. Colors. Patterns. Genres. And just as everyone has something they could improve on, so too does everyone have something to offer. There are People who Dance. Sing. Build. Create. Everyone is good at something, even if it's hard to think about. And sure, maybe there is someone out there who is seemingly better than you. But what you have, they can never have. What you do is unlike what anyone else can do in the World, because the Soul that made it or did it is Yours.

You are you. No one can take that from you, or turn you into something that you're not without you changing yourself. Be unashamedly, and irrevocably you. Be fearless in your authenticity. Because you have so much to offer, and help make this World all the more marvelous, simply by being Yourself.

So don't worry about Normal or Perfect. Let them fall to the wayside. They aren't real.
